Proudly made entirely in the UK, the Ditty is a celebration of hand craft and our unique British sailmaking heritage.
Once used as a test of the apprentice sailmaker’s skill, the Ditty bag is now reimagined with exquisite leather detailing, intricate ropework and two versatile straps giving multiple styling options.
The Ditty is constructed by hand in Somerset by celebrated British craftswoman Katie Robarts-Arnold. It then travels to our historic sail loft in Cowes, where Ratsey sailmakers insert eight brass eyelets and refine the leather base. Finally, it is finished by Sue Pennison, a distinguished member of the International Guild of Knot Tyers, who hand-makes the cord, ties the lanyard handle and fastens the ropework to the bag.
Each and every stitch, seam, and knot reflect our enduring belief in beauty in utility, a principle that has guided our business since 1790. A celebration of heritage, made by some of the UK’s leading artisans.
